PLACING BIDS
Buying merchandise on Bidz.com is quick and easy. If you have something in mind, you can search all currently open listings using our Search feature. Alternatively, you can browse through our auctions using a simple system of categories.
Once you find what you're looking for, you can click on the item's description to enter the item's "Listing Page". This area contains all pertinent information about the item, including warranty, shipping and description specific information. We urge you to read this information carefully, allowing you the ability to bid confidently.
After the allotted time for an auction has expired, a message indicating LISTING CLOSED will be displayed.
Bid With Confidence
Before you begin, We suggest you read the Bidders Tips section of the site. This section contains information intended to educate and protect you from online fraud. Additionally, this page contains information on using the "ask seller a question" feature which allows you to gain additional information regarding listings you are interested in directly from the merchant.
Placing a Bid
Your bid amount must exceed the current highest bid by at least the set bid increment
Typically you will receive an e-mail declaring you the current winner of an auction. Additionally, if you are outbid, you will receive an e-mail indicating this. If you are bidding on items in the 3 Minute Auctions category, you will not be notified if you are outbid. These auctions move very quickly, so you have to monitor your winning bids very carefully.
Tracking Your Bids
Bidder's Watch List
Use Bidz.com's "Watch list" feature to track items you are interested in, but not yet ready to bid on. The watch list closely monitors the status of these items so that you are able to keep an eye on them as they develop.
Retracting your bid:
Bidz.com considers a confirmed bid on an item to be a legally-binding expression of intent to purchase. Once you have submitted your confirmed bid, it cannot be retracted except in the following exceptional circumstances:
You made an obvious typographical error when placing a confirmed bid amount.
New item information added by the seller changed your understanding of the item for which your confirmed bid was placed.
The seller's feedback rating has changed negatively since your first confirmed bid was placed.
Exceptional circumstances do not include bids placed on a similar item, changing your mind, or stating that you cannot pay for the item.
To retract a confirmed bid, you must contact Customer Service with your request and include the item listing number and a valid explanation. Bidders who retract their bids may not place new bids on that item.
What to Do If You Won an Item You Do Not Want Anymore?
Generally speaking, Bidz.com auction winners MUST pay for all items in their account. On occasion we may remove certain bids that have obvious bidding errors if it is not a frequent occurrence. For example: If the average amount paid for the item is $5.00 and you won the bid at $500.00, this in the eyes of Bidz.com is an obvious error and Bidz.com will accommodate the customer in this one case.
However if the average selling price is $5.00 and the winning bid is $15.00 Bidz.com finds this range to be an acceptable bid, and will NOT expire, cancel this auction for free.
If a customer decides they do not want to pay for an item they won, they can have the item removed from their account at a fee of $3.00 per item. This is a self-initiated process whereby the customer can choose the item they do not want to pay for by buying the removal of the items. Please follow the steps below:
Go to "Expire" in your account page
Check the items you want removed, press [ENTER]
When the items you want removed appear on the next page, verify that those are the items to be removed
If the information is accurate please enter your credit card number in the open field at the bottom of the page. Hit [ENTER]
You will be charged $3 per item, and those items you expired will be removed from your list. Please note once an item is expired the only way to get them back is to re-auction for those items. There will be absolutely NO REFUNDS given for the $3 expiration charges.
Bidder's Agreement
By logging in to Bidz.com, you agree to and accept Bidz.com's Terms and Conditions and are responsible for reviewing our list of Bidding or Buying Violations.
Internet fraud is a serious offense. Every time you log in to Bidz.com, Your IP address is recorded. This information can be used against fraudulent bidders. Bidz.com will fully cooperate with any investigation into internet fraud involving our auctions.
Bid shilling occurs when someone bids on an item for the sole purpose of driving up the price. Please bid only on items you intend to purchase. Any evidence of bid shilling on a Bidz.com auction warrants immediate termination of membership.
Bidder's Obligation
When you bid on an item on Bidz.com, you enter a legally binding contract, in which you express intent to purchase the item. Failure to do so in a timely manner will result in termination of your Bidz.com membership.
You are responsible for keeping track of all of your winning bids. You will receive an e-mail indicating you are the highest bidder. At that point, you have seven days to pay for your items. This policy ensures timely resolution for both seller and bidder. No extensions on this seven days will be given.
